Chelmsford’s Senior team made the trip to Norwich on Saturday, for the final match in their 2022 Southern Athletics League campaign. Chelmsford went into the match in third place in Division 1, and equal on points with the top two (Thames Valley Harriers and Harrow). However, with the top two some way clear, based on match points, the team needed a substantial turn-around to secure the title.
After a day of very enjoyable and keen competition, the final match score at Norwich was:
- City of Norwich – 235
- Chelmsford – 210
- Peterborough & Nene Valley – 150
- Crawley – 94
…and with Thames Valley and Harrow both winning their matches, Thames Valley were ultimately crowned SAL champions.
