The England Athletics National U17/U15 and Ambulant Age Group Championships took place at Bedford over the weekend, and a dozen of Chelmsford’s best Juniors were in action at the event.
Conor O’Hare (pictured) won two Gold medals – in the Ambulant Shot and Javelin, recording a PB in both events. Lola Kuponiyi finished fourth in the U17W Shot, but with second and third places going to guest athletes, took the Silver medal.
Joshua Ogunfolaju was agonisingly close to a medal, finishing fourth in the U17M Triple Jump, while Sam Tremelling (U17M Pole Vault) and Seb Clatworthy (U17M High Jump) both claimed fifth place finishes – the latter registering a PB.
Emma Rattle finished ninth in the U17W High Jump, and Onyeka Okoh was eleventh in the U15B event.
On the track, Lily Parris made it through the Final of the U17W 300mH, while Nneka Okoh (U15G 300m), Will Steadman (U15B 800m), Holly Watson (U15G 1500m) and Oliver Early (U17M 100mH) were also testing themselves against the best in the country.
Well done to all who competed in the Green and Gold!
