Five take individual titles and U13's claim team victory in Essex Cross Country League final standings

03 Feb 2019

In the final rankings at the end of the Essex Cross Country League season, FIVE Chelmsford AC athletes took the individual plaudits.  Will Steadman and Kiera-Jayne Atkinson claimed the U13 titles, and Zach Bridgeland won the U17 Men’s category, while Rebecca Luxton (V35/V40) and Mick Bridgeland (V60/V65) (pictured) were winners in their Veterans age groups.  The U13 Girls took all of the top three positions, with Holly Watson (2nd) and Kayleigh Atkinson (3rd) joining Kiera-Jayne on the podium.

Zach Bridgeland’s excellent season helped the U17 Men’s team to take second place in their category.

The Senior teams have predominantly fielded veterans this season, and hence the Women finished the season in sixth place in Division 1, while unfortunately the Men’s team were relegated to Division 2.
