Khai and Jodie take individual victories in SEAA Intercounty Cross Country

11 Dec 2016

There were individual victories for both Khai Mhlanga and Jodie Judd, as a number of Chelmsford AC athletes competed for Essex at the SEAA Inter County Cross Country Championship at Horspath, Oxford on Saturday.

Khai’s exciting win, by 3 seconds, came in the U17 Women’s race, in which she helped Essex to second place.

Jodie won the U20 Women’s race by 10 seconds, helping to achieve a fourth place finish for the Essex team.  All in all, it was a good weekend for the Judd family as Sally Judd won the Veterans race on the same programme, whilst Jessica was on international duty in Italy, helping the U23 GB team to cross country victory.

Elsewhere Elliott Cordery (7th), Tom Keevil (23rd) and Connor Page (26th) were three quarters of an Essex U17 Men’s team that took fifth place.

Faye Sweeting was part of the Essex B team that finished in 17th place in the U15 Girls race, and Alexa Joel was a member of the Essex Senior Women’s team that grabbed a third place in their event.

Another of our Veteran Women's squad, Wendy King finished 9th in her race, and in the Veteran Men's event, Mick Bridgeland was third home in the over 55's group.
