John Weir's first job as President of Essex County Athletics Association was to present the trophies for the County Points Championships 2016, and he was obviously delighted to award all of the following to Chelmsford AC:
- Ladies U13 (one trophy), U15 (one trophy), U17 (one trophy)
and U20/Senior (one trophy).
- Men's U13, U15, U17 & U20 (all one trophy) and the Senior
Men (one trophy).
Essentially, the club won EVERY age category!
During the course of the year, points are awarded based on all Essex County Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field, and Cross Country Championships.
