Following success in the Southern cross country relays, Chelmsford Junior teams were sent to the National event at Mansfield, and although there were to be no medals this time, the performance of the Under 13 Girls was first class. Against the cream of the country it was a very solid performance to come away with sixth place, with an identical time to 5th placed Blackheath. Our team comprised of Lottie Wilkin (7m39s), Ezra Harrold (7.53) and Daisy Stollery (7.50).
For good measure, our 'B' team finished 11th via Hetty Harrison (7.42), Amelia Shipton (8.00) and Harriet Matthews (8.26).
Other age groups saw the Under 15 Girls place 15th, with Kayleigh Atkinson (7.49), Sienna Shipton (7.50) and Amelia King (8.00), whilst over a longer distance, the Under 17's team of Holly Watson (9.20), Larna Morgan (10.09) and Sophie Maccallum (10.31) placed 21st.
Over to the boys, and the Under 13's of Jacob Parrott (7.17), Ethan O`Brien (7.41) and Austin Kelly (7.34) finished 11th, while the under 17's showed remarkable consistency of times through Will Steadman, Will Nuttall and Joseph Perry with only one second difference between each runner.
