Despite current Covid restrictions, two of the club's most promising young athletes were in action in Hurdles events over the weekend - and both set new club records!
On Saturday, Onyeka Okoh claimed a new record in the U17M 400m Hurdles, at the Nuneaton Spring Special Open. Onyeka recorded a time of 56.09 seconds, eclipsing the previous record of 57.90, set by Rhys Collings in 2014.
On Sunday, Lily Parris was in action at the Havering Spring Warm-up, where she crossed the line in the U20W 100m Hurdles in a time of 14.00 seconds, beating the previous record of 14.20 seconds, jointly held by Georgia Atkins (2010) and Hayley McLean (2012).
We're looking forward to seeing these two in action for the club this Summer! Congratulations to Onyeka and Lily!
Also competing at the Havering Spring Warm-up was Clare St John-Coleman, who added to her ever lengthening list of club records by setting a new mark of 3.96m in the V60 Long Jump, and making it a hat-trick of club records at the weekend.
