16 Jul 2019

The annual Southern Eight Counties Intercounty Seniors match took place at Ashford on Sunday – and number of Chelmsford AC athletes were in action, representing their county.

Hayley McLean was a comfortable winner in the 400m Hurdles – a race in which Chay Clark finished in second place.

Four athletes claimed third place finishes – Jess Hopkins in the 100m Hurdles, Rhys Collings in the 400m Hurdles, and Mia Chantree in the High Jump.  Tina Quinlivan was also third in the Pole Vault – just a day after competing for Chelmsford in the SAL.  Luke Keteleers was also in action two days running, as he claimed third place in the B string Pole Vault and won the B string 400m Hurdles.

Jess Whiley took second place in the B string 100m Hurdles, and fifth in the B string Shot.

Essex won the Men’s match, were third in the Women’s match – and were victorious in the match overall.
