A number of Chelmsford AC athletes were in action in their
Essex vests today, at the SEAA Intercounties Cross Country at Biggleswade.
Jodie Judd was the club’s highest individual finisher of the
day, crossing the line in 3rd place in the U17 Women’s race. Rachel Broome wasn’t far behind, in 19th
place, as the pair led the Essex team to a 4th place finish
overall. Emma Perks and Lydia Callen
were also part of the Essex line-up in the race.
In the U13 Girls race, Martha Smith (12th) and
Georgia Tombs (36th) were points scorers for an Essex team that finished
6th. Faye Sweeting was also
running for the county in the same race.
Essex were victorious in the U15 Boys race, with Elliott
Cordery (12th) and Tom Keevil (16th) making major
contributions to this win.
Meanwhile, Megan Williams scored points for the Essex U20
Women’s team that were placed third in their race.
In the Veterans events
Sally Judd was placed third in the women's race, whilst Mick Bridgeland finished
11th in the M50 race – he was giving away years on those ahead of him, being
first over 55
