Club athletes in SEAA Cross Country action for Essex

12 Dec 2015

A number of Chelmsford AC athletes were in action in their Essex vests today, at the SEAA Intercounties Cross Country at Biggleswade.

Jodie Judd was the club’s highest individual finisher of the day, crossing the line in 3rd place in the U17 Women’s race.  Rachel Broome wasn’t far behind, in 19th place, as the pair led the Essex team to a 4th place finish overall.  Emma Perks and Lydia Callen were also part of the Essex line-up in the race.

In the U13 Girls race, Martha Smith (12th) and Georgia Tombs (36th) were points scorers for an Essex team that finished 6th.  Faye Sweeting was also running for the county in the same race.

Essex were victorious in the U15 Boys race, with Elliott Cordery (12th) and Tom Keevil (16th) making major contributions to this win.

Meanwhile, Megan Williams scored points for the Essex U20 Women’s team that were placed third in their race.

In the Veterans events Sally Judd was placed third in the women's race, whilst Mick Bridgeland finished 11th in the M50 race – he was giving away years on those ahead of him, being first over 55 competitor.

Well done to all club athletes that proudly turned out in the red of Essex today!
